Therapist Yoga Facilitator Creative

Hi there, I’m Grace. I’m a heart-led creative, therapist, and yoga teacher based in Staffordshire, England. I specialise in supporting adults and children to process and find ways to navigate trauma, depression, and grief — particularly following suicide loss. My therapeutic work is shaped by my personal journey through depression and my own experiences of grief after losing my beloved father to suicide. During some of my darkest days, where the loss and pain felt all consuming, I struggled to see a way forwards. But thankfully, seeking therapy helped me to find joy and meaning in my life again. It is through my own experience and years of training and study, as well as my deep empathy and person-centred care, that I am able to provide a safe, trauma-informed space for others to feel seen, heard and understood. And, in their own time, able to find joy and meaning in life again whilst still holding a space in their heart for their lost loved one.

A GLIMPSE INTO MY HEART

I LOVE FINDING LIFE’S simple JOYS

I adore tulips, sunflowers and gypsophila, feeling the warmth of my morning cup of coffee in between my palms, reading and writing poetry, being barefoot in nature, adventuring with my beautiful partner, and, of course, cuddles with my Golden Retriever, Nala. I love exploring new ways to practice presence and seek creative rest — my current loves are learning how to bake homemade sourdough and focaccia!

I begun practicing yoga at the young age of thirteen to support my mental health. It gave me many valuable resources for self-regulation which came in useful during my sporting career as a National Acrobatic Gymnast. After years of falling in love with the practice, in 2019, I decided to complete my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Sri Lanka. Later that year, I specialised in Trauma-Informed Yoga with SoulWork™ and the BodyWise Institute in Costa Rica — my heart’s home.

I graduated University in 2019 with a First Class BSc Honours Degree in Sport, Health and Nutrition. Alongside my therapy and creative work, I currently work part-time in the NHS as a Mental Health Assistant Dietitian, working closely with a wider multidisciplinary team to support adults within an acute psychiatric inpatient unit.

a gentle invitation

My style of teaching yoga and holding safe, trauma-informed space is based on my recognition of the innate wisdom of the human heart.

I offer yoga classes, workshops and retreats which invite deep listening, softening, and receptivity while simultaneously activating inner-power, self-responsibility, and trust.

After losing my father to suicide in February 2020, right before the pandemic, and my grandad later that same year, I knew that when I felt ready, I needed to use my own personal experiences to support others who have been bereaved and are struggling to stay afloat amidst the tidal waves of grief.

I became a Support Group Facilitator for Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS), a charity which offers peer-led support to adults impacted by suicide loss. Together with a group of several other volunteers who very quickly became like family, we hold a monthly support group within Stafford open to anyone who has been bereaved by suicide. SoBS also has a telephone support line and offers email support for those in need of support following their loss.

With compassion, Grace guides those she works with to enter into a dialogue with their body, mind and heart in a respectful way.
